What RevOps Should Ask Before a CRM Enrichment Project
The useful question is not whether you have the data. It is whether the data changes who your team prioritizes, how it works, or what it does next.
Start with the operating decision
Before adding a new data source, write down the decision it is supposed to improve. Examples include selecting target accounts, routing inbound leads, identifying missing buying roles, deciding which accounts enter a campaign, or determining where sales spends research time.
Define the minimum useful context
More fields are not automatically better. A practical dataset has the smallest set of reliable attributes needed for segmentation and action. That usually includes account identity, relevant company attributes, role context, a way to prioritize, and a clear output format.
Keep feedback connected
Campaign outcomes, sales dispositions and qualification notes should inform the next version of the audience. The goal is a learning system: targeting creates activity, activity creates feedback, and feedback improves targeting.
A dataset is finished when the next team knows what to do with it—not when the spreadsheet is full.
